Our commitment to a safe, respectful environment for every participant.

Our Commitment

Core commitment

Aeroventure Institute is committed to a safe, respectful environment for every student, mentor, staff member, and partner. We do not tolerate harassment, discrimination, bullying, or any conduct that makes participants feel unsafe.

This commitment applies across all interactions: in-person events, virtual meetings, email, messaging, and social platforms. It applies to all participants — students, mentors, staff, and partners — at all times during their involvement with Aeroventure.

If you experience or witness something that feels wrong, we want you to report it. We take all concerns seriously and will address them promptly.

What to Report

You should report any behavior that:

  • Makes you or someone else feel uncomfortable, threatened, or unsafe.
  • Involves harassment, discrimination, bullying, or abuse — verbal, emotional, or physical.
  • Violates our community guidelines or seems inappropriate for a program serving minors.
  • Involves misuse of program resources, funding, or access.
  • Seems illegal, dangerous, or otherwise seriously harmful.
You don't need to be certain that something “counts” before reporting. If something feels wrong, contact us. We would rather hear from you and assess than have you stay silent.

How to Report

There are two primary ways to reach us:

01

Contact form

Use the contact section on our homepage. Include “Safety” or “Report” in your message subject so we can route it to the right team member immediately.

02

Direct to a trusted person

If you are already in the program, you may also reach out to a staff member or mentor you trust. They are obligated to escalate safety concerns to program leadership promptly.

What to include in your report

  • What happened — a description of the behavior or incident.
  • When and where it occurred.
  • Who was involved, if you know.
  • Any evidence, screenshots, or messages (if applicable and comfortable to share).
  • What outcome you are hoping for, if you have one in mind.

You can report anonymously, but providing your contact information allows us to follow up with you and keep you informed of the outcome.

Response Process

Here is what happens after you submit a report:

01

Report received

Immediately

We receive your report via the homepage contact form or direct communication.

02

Acknowledgment

Within 24 hours

We confirm receipt and assign the concern to the right team member.

03

Review & investigation

3–7 days

We assess the situation — we may follow up with you or others involved for context.

04

Resolution & action

As soon as possible

We take appropriate action, from a conversation to access restrictions or removal.

05

Follow-up

After resolution

We communicate outcomes to the reporting party to the extent confidentiality allows.

Actions We Take

The specific action we take depends on the nature, severity, and context of the concern. Possible responses include, but are not limited to:

Level 1Clarifying conversation

A direct conversation with the person involved to address the behavior and set expectations.

Level 2Formal warning

A written warning with clear conditions for continued participation.

Level 3Access restrictions

Temporary or permanent restriction from certain events, communications, or resources.

Level 4Removal from program

Immediate termination of participation, with notification to relevant parties as appropriate.

Serious or illegal conduct

For incidents involving illegal conduct or imminent risk of harm, we may involve law enforcement, school administration, or other relevant authorities as appropriate — and in some cases without prior notice.

We will not retaliate against anyone who reports a concern in good faith, even if the investigation does not result in a finding of misconduct.

Parents & Guardians

If you are a parent or guardian with a safety concern about your student's participation, please contact us through the homepage. Include “Parent concern” in your message and we will prioritize your inquiry.

Because our program serves minors, we take parent and guardian concerns especially seriously. We will respond as quickly as possible and keep you informed of relevant outcomes to the extent confidentiality allows.

Parental consent

Parent or guardian consent is required for students under 18 to participate in Aeroventure. We may contact parents or guardians directly in connection with safety concerns, as required by the nature of the situation.

Confidentiality

We handle all safety reports with discretion. We will keep your report confidential to the extent possible while still investigating and resolving the concern.

However, in some cases — particularly where safety is at risk, where the law requires disclosure, or where effective resolution requires it — complete confidentiality may not be possible. We will tell you if we need to share information beyond those directly involved in the review.
